Victim-Centered Community Consultation on Transitional Justice Held in Bahir Dar

The Network of CSO and other stakeholder in the Amhara region for Transitional Justice with, financed by the LHR and led by COND, conducted a victim-centered community consultation in Bahir Dar with the guidance of the Technical Support of Transitional Justice steering Committee. Participants included victims, persons with disabilities, war veterans and war-injured individuals, IDPs, returnees, community elders, teachers, and representatives from Bahir Dar City, Debre Tabor City, Bahir Dar Zuria Woreda, and nearby zones. Discussions covered expectations, community roles, implementation challenges, future directions, and awareness-raising. Participants recommended expanding similar victim-centered consultations to other communities to strengthen public participation in the transitional justice process.
